With a primary goal of revitalizing Boston’s South End neighborhood, Elkus Manfredi Architects created a design aesthetic that focuses on returning the area to a lively, dynamic mixed-use community. Drawing inspiration from former building owner–the Boston Herald–Ink Block has become a pillar in Boston’s revitalization project with classic Bostonian motifs and contemporary, edgy design features.

reSAWN’s award-winning CHARRED collection pays homage to the traditional Japanese technique of “shou-sugi-ban” aka “yakisugi” without being literal. reSAWN uses domestic wood species whenever possible, including Cypress from the Southern US and domestic White Oak, Black Walnut, Red Oak & Ash as well as reclaimed woods from the US. The designs in the CHARRED collection have been carefully developed using modern finishes and incorporating reSAWN’s many years of experience in the architectural & design specification market. reSAWN manufacturers charred wood products for a range of applications including exterior siding, interior wall cladding & flooring, and custom furniture.
The tour includes 8 stops beginning on the Upper East Side of Manhattan and concluding in Park Slope Brooklyn.

6 NEWLY ADDED OLD WOOD LOOKS
reSAWN is pleased to introduce 4 new designs on reclaimed hemlock inspired by reclaimed barn siding. The reclaimed hemlock is wirebrushed with a stain/sealer. The colors have been carefully curated by our product developer to reflect the colors typically found on reclaimed barn siding. Designers can now specify a reclaimed wood product that looks like barn siding without the concerns of lead paint that can sometimes be found on old barns. The beautifully rustic reclaimed hemlock adds variation and fluidity to these designs while the stain/sealer allows for a more consistent all over color than can be achieved with reclaimed barn siding.
* Bollocks * Cheeky * reSAWN gets FRESH with WIDE PLANK white oak
