66 Summer Street is a residential high-rise in the heart of Stamford, CT featuring reSAWN's wide plank oak flooring. This engineered floor has a substantial 6mm wear layer and is 7″ wide to accentuate the unique character and grain pattern of white oak. The flooring was finished with a custom stain designed specifically for this project. Trinity Financial is the team behind the 15 story development, part of Stamford’s Park Square West redevelopment initiative.

CHARRED TIMBER HOUSE BY HARUNATSU-ARCH
Charred Japanese cedar clads the exterior of this split-level house in Izumo, Japan, by Kanazawa studio Harunatsu-Arch. The architects chose to clad the exterior with charred Japanese cedar boards, giving the building a blackened textural surface that contrasts with the smooth concrete foundation slab.

BARN RENOVATION
This early nineteenth century barn was renovated with minimum change in structure or footprint. Originally a stone bank barn with stables and paddock facing south on the lower level and a large hayloft on the upper level, it has been transformed into a residence that celebrates the simple form, openness, and stone and wood finishes of the original structure.
All interior structural framing walls were left in place, while beams were selectively removed and reinforced to incorporate a new second floor that accommodates two bedrooms including a master bedroom, two bathrooms, study, dressing area, and closets … READ MORE.
