In an article published in The New York Times Style Magazine, a pool house located on Shelter Island was featured, highlighting the use of reSAWN’s MONOGATARI shou sugi ban charred cypress. Designed by Brooklyn-based firm General Assembly, the Shelter Island pool house was designed as a retreat and relaxation space for a busy mother and daughter duo. Lead designer, Sarah Zames, chose reSAWN’s MONOGATARI shou sugi ban charred cypress for the exterior cladding.
Earlier this November, reSAWN TIMBER co. was one of 325 exhibitors to present a wide variety of products to the hospitality industry at Boutique Design New York (BDNY). The two day event brought over 5,000 hospitality designers, architects, and purchasers to the Jacob Javits Center in NYC in search of sustainable and cutting edge materials. reSAWN featured shou sugi ban charred wood, interior and exterior cladding, newly harvested and reclaimed flooring, and custom furniture pieces.
Entering its eighth year, Boutique Design New York (BDNY) has quickly become one of the leading trade fairs and conferences dedicated specifically to serving the hospitality design industry. Presented annually by Boutique Design at NYC’s Javits Center, BDNY brings interior designers, architects, purchasing agents and hospitality owners/developers together with manufacturers and marketers of high-caliber design elements for hospitality interiors. reSAWN’s plan to exhibit at BDNY on November 12th & 13th brings a design specific offering of products that include shou sugi ban flooring & cladding, new and reclaimed flooring & cladding, and custom, solid wood furniture.
ABOUT THE PROJECT
Located at the epicenter of H Street in Washington, D.C., The Apollo brings an exciting apartment complex to one of the most dynamic neighborhoods in D.C. The lobby is large and open with a full bar and seating area to the right of the front desk and elevators located behind the desk. White tile floors lead up to the most impressive feature of the new complex: a three level balcony that includes reSAWN’s Antique Reclaimed Oak flooring, wall claddings, and stair treads from the enCORE collection.
ABOUT THE PROJECT
Located at the very end of the Overseas Highway in northern Key West, this bayside private residence included reSAWN’s NEWPORT black walnut flooring and stair treads. A cement driveway surround and raised first floor give the exterior a classic beach house aesthetic. The interior is designed around an open floor plan with living room, dining room, and kitchen in one area. With NEWPORT black walnut flooring on both the main floor and top floor, the homeowners included custom designed black walnut stair treads to connect the two floors.

The North Face is a well established outdoor sports brand under the ownership umbrella of VF Corporation. The brand joins the likes of JanSport and Timberland in VF Corporation’s “Outdoor Action Sports” section. With the company’s background and identity as an outdoor sports clothing and equipment retailer, they were inspired by the ruggedness and simplicity of nature. Architecture and design team, Rapt Studio, used reSAWN’s MERCER white oak flooring , exposed ceilings, and brick walls to convey The North Face brand.
2016 brought an abundance of charred shou sugi ban, reclaimed wood, FSC certified flooring, solid, custom built furniture, and sometimes a little bit of everything. From the Longport Residence and Commonwealth Joe to Sushi Ganso and the University of Delaware, reSAWN TIMBER co. focused on consistently providing high-quality products for commercial and residential projects both large and small. reSAWN intends to provide the best possible customer experience from the sampling phase through project completion, and continues to innovate by asking, "Could we be doing this better?"

ABOUT THE PROJECT
With an origin story that includes a mother and son coffee roasting team, biking cold brew coffee kegs to farmer’s markets and high-tech offices, and supplying coffee to the owners’ favorite indie coffee shops, Commonwealth Joe Coffee Roasters has opened its first permanent location at the former home of “Arlington’s Original Coffee House.” The four childhood friends who make up the ownership group bought the “Java Shack” from owner Dale Roberts in 2015, and were named the D.C. metropolitan’s “Best Coffee Shop” by Washington City Paper in 2016.

Launched in 2003, NeoCon East has positioned itself as the premier design expo and conference for interiors on the east coast. After twelve years in Baltimore, MD, NeoCon East changed its location to Philadelphia, PA in 2015. A successful first year convinced the conference organizers to once again host the trade show in the 'City of Brotherly Love'. Just an hour drive down the Pennsylvania Turnpike, reSAWN TIMBER co. was excited to bring its wide array of shou sugi ban, flooring wall cladding, and furniture collections to the Pennsylvania Convention Center for NeoCon East 2016.
