A cement driveway surround and raised first floor give the exterior a classic beach house aesthetic. The interior is designed around an open floor plan with living room, dining room, and kitchen in one area. With [NEWPORT black walnut flooring](https://resawntimberco.com/product/newport-black-walnut/) on both the main floor and top floor, the homeowners included custom designed black walnut stair treads to connect the two floors. ![A Key West residence used reSAWN's NEWPORT](https://connect.resawntimberco.com/hs-fs/hubfs/Imported_Blog_Media/IMG_1426_Evergreen_LoRes-5.jpg?width=1280&height=1383&name=IMG_1426_Evergreen_LoRes-5.jpg) The home is set up to take advantage of the favorable Florida weather. On the main floor, large sliding doors merge interior with exterior through an expansive porch with a lounge area and a reclaimed wood table. Additionally, the first level has a dock on the bay, a small pool, and a covered play area. Noteworthy for its simple aesthetic of white walls and wood accents, the hallway and guest room allow for ample light to spill onto the NEWPORT black walnut flooring. The master bedroom has a simple aesthetic similar to that of the entire house–white walls and black walnut–but its greatest feature is a small, private balcony that overlooks the yard and other bay front homes. ![A Key West residence used reSAWN's NEWPORT](https://connect.resawntimberco.com/hs-fs/hubfs/Imported_Blog_Media/IMG_1341_Evergreen_LoRes-5.jpg?width=1280&height=853&name=IMG_1341_Evergreen_LoRes-5.jpg) Flooring: **reSAWN TIMBER co.** **NEWPORT** – American black walnut – plain sawn STEAMED Character grade – prefinished with hardwax oils, voids filled Tongue & Groove, Endmatched, Microbeveled Edges and Ends Solid: 3/4” thick X 5” wide X 2-10’ random lengths Stair Treads: Black Walnut–Prefinished to match NEWPORT flooring 10-3/4″ deep X 42″ wide X 2-1/2″ thick ##### [Click for entire collection of project photos](https://resawntimberco.com/project/key-west-residence-newport-black-walnut/) ##### Tags: [architecture](https://connect.resawntimberco.com/tag/architecture), [arlington](https://connect.resawntimberco.com/tag/arlington), [black walnut](https://connect.resawntimberco.com/tag/black-walnut), [charred](https://connect.resawntimberco.com/tag/charred), [charred wood](https://connect.resawntimberco.com/tag/charred-wood), [cypress](https://connect.resawntimberco.com/tag/cypress), [dusk](https://connect.resawntimberco.com/tag/dusk), [flooring](https://connect.resawntimberco.com/tag/flooring), [hospitality](https://connect.resawntimberco.com/tag/hospitality), [hospitality design](https://connect.resawntimberco.com/tag/hospitality-design), [interior design](https://connect.resawntimberco.com/tag/interior-design), [kujaku](https://connect.resawntimberco.com/tag/kujaku), [shou sugi ban](https://connect.resawntimberco.com/tag/shou-sugi-ban), [wall cladding](https://connect.resawntimberco.com/tag/wall-cladding), [white oak](https://connect.resawntimberco.com/tag/white-oak) [reSAWN's TORA shou sugi ban Contrasts Snowy Landscape on Calgary Private Residence ** ](https://connect.resawntimberco.com/tora-shou-sugi-ban-calgary-private-residence) [** The North Face NYC Showroom :: MERCER white oak flooring ](https://connect.resawntimberco.com/north-face-showroom-mercer-white-oak-flooring) ## Something Powerful ### Tell The Reader More The headline and subheader tells us what you're [offering](https://connect.resawntimberco.com/key-west-residence-newport-black-walnut#), and the form header closes the deal.
