Just west of Washington D.C., [The Bartlett](http://thebartlett.com/) is a high-end residential complex in the heart of Pentagon City. Located in the coastal town of Bellport, the residence has a heavily wooded landscape and cul-de-sac neighborhood. The ocean is never too far away, though, with a stiff, salty sea breeze. It’s the same breeze that requires the installation of a high-quality exterior wood siding. Located a brief ferry ride away from North Haven, NY, Shelter Island is a secluded coastal town with houses overlooking the water and ample places to watch the sunset. Upon arriving at the residence, an ivy archway with a rustic wooden door begins the path to the pool house that features reSAWN TIMBER co.’s [MONOGATARI shou sugi ban charred cypress](https://resawntimberco.com/product/monogatari-shou-sugi-ban/) exterior siding.

Launched in 2003, [NeoCon East](http://neoconeast.com/) has positioned itself as the premier design expo and conference for interiors on the east coast. After twelve years in Baltimore, MD, NeoCon East changed its location to Philadelphia, PA in 2015. A successful first year convinced the conference organizers to once again host the trade show in the 'City of Brotherly Love'. Just an hour drive down the Pennsylvania Turnpike, [reSAWN TIMBER co.](https://resawntimberco.com/) was excited to bring its wide array of shou sugi ban, flooring wall cladding, and furniture collections to the Pennsylvania Convention Center for NeoCon East 2016.

ABOUT THE PROJECT
This private residence is located in the mountains of [Asheville](https://www.exploreasheville.com/), NC. Built into the densely forested mountainside, the home combines timeless building materials and a modern structural design. reSAWN's [IRUKA](https://resawntimberco.com/product/iruka-shou-sugi-ban/) shou sugi ban charred cypress exterior siding and rustic stone columns are major features that contribute to the overall design concept.
From reSAWN's [CHARRED NEUTRAL collection](https://resawntimberco.com/shous-sugi-ban-charred-neutral/), IRUKA features a compelling mix of browns and differing wood grain widths. The color scheme of this [shou sugi ban](https://resawntimberco.com/shou-sugi-ban/) product completes the naturalist design aesthetic that is so prominent in the Asheville architecture scene. [Carlton-Edwards DesignBuild](http://carlton-edwards.com/designbuild/) specified IRUKA as a sleek feature to accent the rustic nature of the home.

##### ABOUT THE PROJECT
[Pizza (216)](http://resawntimberco.com/project/pizza216-shou-sugi-ban/), a New York style, brick oven pizzeria, is located in Cleveland, OH. With an interior motif that sets a maroon color scheme against dark, brown seating, the dining room and bar are cohesively finished with reSAWN’s [KURO shou sugi ban](http://resawntimberco.com/product/kuro-shou-sugi-ban/) charred cypress wall cladding that accentuates the restaurant’s natural aesthetic.
This material was specified by local and national award-winning, [Robert Maschke Architects Inc.](http://www.robertmaschke.com/), known for innovative design techniques that create “…complex spatial effects with modest means.” Materials were specified with a 5-1/8″ wide face and tongue & groove milling. A [select](https://resawntimberco.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/02/CHARREDCollection-Cypress-Grades.pdf) grade of cypress was used to ensure a high-quality look and durable functionality.

**2. [CITIZEN WATCH FLAGSHIP STORE](http://www.citizenwatch.com/en-us/) - 1500 Broadway (btwn 43rd & 44th Street)**
The second stop is at [Citizen Watch Company](http://www.citizenwatch.com/en-us/)’s global flagship store in Times Square. With over 1,300 square feet, the new store gives Citizen the opportunity to feature a full range of their offering and to enhance consumer appreciation for the brand on a grand scale. New York based architectural firm [Mapos](http://studiomapos.com/) select reSAWN’s [NETSU](https://resawntimberco.com/product/netsu-shou-sugi-ban/) shou sugi ban red oak wall cladding for the interior of the store.
